FAQ
Short answers to what providers ask most. Still stuck? Write to us from the Support page in your panel.
Why did a code stop resolving?
Open Analytics in the panel: Failed resolves lists each failure with its reason. The reasons are:
- Paused
- The code is paused. Resume it on the code's page.
- Expired
- The code's expiry date has passed. Change or clear the date in the code's Settings tab.
- Plan inactive
- Your trial or plan has ended, so none of your codes resolve. Choose a plan on the Billing page and they work again at once.
- Device limit
- A new device tried the code but the limit was reached. See device limits.
- Device revoked
- You removed that device; it is refused once, then may add itself again.
- Upstream failed
- A live-URL JSON feed could not be fetched and there was no copy from the last 24 hours.
If Analytics shows successful resolves but your customer still can't play anything, the problem is in the source itself: an expired Xtream line, a changed password or a server that's down. Use Test connection on the Source tab (see testing a connection).
You can get an email when failed resolves suddenly rise: turn it on in Account → Notifications.
How do device limits work?
A device is one installation of Mega Player. It is added to a code the first time it looks the code up, and stays until you remove it. The limit counts those devices, not how many play at the same moment.
- Each plan has a maximum per code: 5 on the trial, 25 on Starter, and no maximum on Pro and Business. You can set a lower limit on any code.
- When the limit is reached, new devices are refused and devices already on the code keep working.
- To free a place, open the code's Devices tab and revoke a device. Reinstalling Mega Player or clearing its data can make the same TV count as a new device, so revoke the old entry.
Can I choose the digits of a code?
No. Codes are random so they can't be guessed from each other, and patterns such as 123456 or 111111 are never issued. You can generate new digits for a code on its Danger zone tab; the old digits stop working at once and are not reused for 90 days.
Can two codes use the same source?
Yes. Each code has its own copy of the source, so changing one doesn't change the other. For customers with separate Xtream lines, give each their own code and line, so you can pause one without affecting the other.
Who can see my sources?
Passwords and playlist links are stored encrypted. The panel never shows a saved password again; leave the field blank to keep it. The public code check shows only whether a code is active and its source type. Mega Player receives the source when it looks a code up, which is how it plays your channels. Smart Code staff can open a source only by giving a reason, for example while handling an abuse report, and every such access is recorded.
What happens when my trial or plan ends?
Your codes stop resolving and viewers see that the code is inactive. Nothing is deleted: choose a plan and every code works again straight away. Paused codes don't count toward a plan's limit: to move to a plan with fewer codes, pause the ones you no longer need first.
Do you host or check the content?
No. Smart Code stores where your streams are, not the streams. You are responsible for having the rights to what you share; see the acceptable use policy. Rights holders can report a code on the takedown page.
